Meet Our Attorneys
Our managing partner, Attorney Brian Thomas, was born and raised in the Chicago area, having grown up in its western suburbs. In May 2013, he founded Thomas Law to create a culture of client-focused representation and counsel within a family atmosphere.
Brian Thomas is a kidney transplant patient. That life experience is particularly important in his approach to our clients. He understands chronic pain and the frustration that comes with injury. He has lived life “differently” because of kidney-related issues, but does not allow that to limit him. That is the counsel he provides to clients – that the damages suffered in a personal injury context will not forever define them.
Brian is passionate about this holistic approach: to maximize compensation for his clients, while also listening and advising about life after injury. Because no amount of money is worth physical pain, the ultimate goal is to minimize it. Due to his achievement and reputation within the Chicago legal community, in 2011, Brian was named one of Illinois top 40 attorneys under the age of 40. The distinction was awarded after Brian was nominated and selected by his peers in the legal community. The honor is one achieved by less than 1% of all Illinois attorneys.
Meet Our Professional Support Team
Our Director of Operations, Lucy Garcia, was born and raised in a small rural town in Mexico. She is a mother of two beautiful girls and has lived in the city of Chicago since 1995. Lucy came to the United States when she was 18 years old. Like many other people, she came to this country to live the American Dream. Born to a humble family, Lucy learned about hard work, honesty and passion for work.
With almost 13 years of experience in the legal field, Lucy has developed into a person with an aggressive and honest attitude for those people who put food on their table for their loved ones. Lucy loves and cares for her clients as if they were family to her. After working at two personal injury/workers’ compensation firms, Lucy came to Thomas Law in January 2014.
Legal Assistant Lesley Hernandez is from the southwest side of Chicago. She is 20 years old and enrolled at DePaul University as a double major in criminology and political science. Her life’s goal is to go to law school; her goal is to be the first attorney in her family.
She loves working with and helping people and is very happy to be a part of Thomas Law, where she has opportunity to do that daily.
Legal Assistant Natalia Pineda was born and raised in Chicago’s South Side and graduated from Thomas Kelly High School. Spending time with family and friends is something she appreciates. Working at Thomas Law brings her happiness because she faces new challenges with the work and enjoys helping people in need.
